Postpartum Blog

On our blog platform, we love to share personal stories about the people who are trying our products to help rescue their hair and skin. This week on we are featuring a guest blog from Charu, a travel and family blogger from Australia who has suffered from hair loss after her pregnancy and is about to start her journey to thicker, fuller hair with BAMbeautiful.

My Experience

BAMbeautiful Guest BlogWhen women say that pregnancy is an unforgettable experience it certainly is and at the same time there may be a few things they don't tell you which they are happier to forget. Some people have a glamorous image in their mind of a confident mother with perfect makeup and lustrous hair holding her newborn under her chin.

If pregnancy was as depicted on social media it would be, woman grows perfect side profile tummy, baby comes easily for a smiling selfie with mum (who is looking immaculate) and within 6 weeks mum is back to her pre-baby self, skipping around town in white denim short shorts, baby in one hand and soy latte in the other. Ok maybe there were no soy lattes and white denim short shorts, to begin with, but you get me!

The image painted above might be the case for a handful of lucky young mums, but the majority of women liken pregnancy to an emotional rollercoaster leaving them feeling deflated and depressed.

You have just been through at least three out of nine months of feeling like you are going to explode out of your own skin, If sleepless nights because you can't roll over to more sleepless nights following the massive serotonin drop are not enough to make you depressed, imagine you then start losing your hair!

It's as if you gave birth to an adult cat, except that the cat is you and there are chunks of hair falling out and hairballs all over the floor. Almost every husband or partner will make a comment about hair getting caught in the vacuum cleaner which only makes you want to strangle them.

Welcome to postpartum pregnancy ladies! For those of you who have experienced childbirth you know what I'm talking about, and for those of you who have not, well SURPRISE!

It is a challenging time, you are physically drained, your mind is consumed by thoughts of what to do for your newborn, your hormone levels have crashed, and you are likely to be feeling insecure about the way you look and feel.

But you must remember that you are not alone. Did you know that 40% of women experience thinning hair by the time they are 40 due to pregnancy, stress, age, medical conditions, crash dieting, or nutritional deficiencies? Just thinking about it makes my hair fall out!  But the good news is that we are not alone.

That being said, considering how many women suffer from hair loss or thinning hair, there are certainly not enough products on the market formulated for women, especially products that offer a natural solution.

My Discovery

BAMbeautiful, thinning hair, best thinning hair productsFor me, and for many other women, it is important to use products that are vegan, environmentally conscious and derived from natural alternatives – so they are safe to use while breastfeeding. This is why I am very excited to have discovered BAMbeautiful containing Eco-cert Bamboo, Turmeric, Hyaluronic Acid and Wheat Proteins. A powerful formula is free from sulphates and full of active ingredients clinically proven to stimulate hair growth and fight hair loss!

The ingredients are amazing:

🌱 Organic Pea Sprout (AnaGain) stimulates hair growth at the root and prolongs the life cycle of hair.

🌱 Turmeric (Winner of the Global Beauty Industry award for Best Haircare Ingredient for Hair Growth) boosts hair growth and density while delaying hair loss by strengthening the hair follicle.

🌱 Hyaluronic Acid moisturises and deeply nourishes and slows down the aging process.

🌱 Wheat Proteins increase hydration to dry and damaged hair promoting elasticity and protection of the hair.
